How To Use BodySitRep

BodySitRep is a personal health tracking app. It helps you log symptoms, medications, meals, sleep, and daily habits so you can see patterns over time and share accurate records with your providers.

What is BodySitRep?

BodySitRep gives you one place to track everything about your health: blood pressure readings, headache patterns, what you eat, how you sleep, your mood, medications, and more. You choose which areas matter to you and the app keeps everything organized, encrypted, and ready to review.

It is built for real people managing real health concerns. Veterans documenting conditions for VA claims. Parents tracking a child's symptoms. Anyone who wants to walk into a doctor's appointment with actual data instead of guessing what happened last week.

Who is it for?

  • Veterans tracking symptoms for disability claims or provider visits
  • Anyone managing a chronic condition (migraines, IBS, hypertension, mental health)
  • People who want to understand how sleep, food, and stress affect how they feel
  • Caregivers tracking health for someone else
  • Anyone who has ever said "I wish I had written that down"

What problem does it solve?

Health information is scattered. You remember some symptoms but not others. You know your blood pressure was high last month but you do not remember which days. Your doctor asks "how have you been sleeping?" and you say "not great" but you cannot say more than that.

BodySitRep fixes this. Log a few things each day. Over weeks and months, the app builds a complete picture of your health that you can review, export, and share.

Start Here: Your First 5 Minutes

Follow these steps to go from zero to your first logged entry.

Step 1: Create your account

Go to bodysitrep.com and tap "Start Tracking." You will enter your email address and create a password. After signing in, the app walks you through a short setup:

  • Choose a plan. Free works to start. You can upgrade later if you want more trackers or analytics.
  • Tell us about yourself. Name is required. Date of birth, sex, and military status are optional but help the app show you the right trackers. If you select a military status, you get 5 bonus trackers for free.
  • Location and contact. Optional. City, state, and phone are encrypted and never shared.

When you finish setup, you land on the tracker selection screen.

Step 2: Choose your trackers

You will see a list of 80+ trackers organized by category: Health Vitals, Symptoms, Lifestyle, Women's Health, Fitness, and more. Toggle on the ones that matter to you right now.

Do not turn on everything. Start with 2 to 4 trackers that match your most important concerns. If you get migraines, turn on Headache. If you monitor blood pressure, turn on Blood Pressure. If you want to understand your sleep, turn on Sleep.

You can always add more trackers later in Settings. There is no penalty for starting small.

Step 3: Log your first entry

After setup, you land on your Home screen. You will see cards for each tracker you enabled. Tap one to open it.

Inside the tracker, you will see a form. The date defaults to today. Fill in what applies. Most fields are optional. If you had a headache, select the pain level, pick where it hurts, and check the symptoms that match. If you want to add context, type a note at the bottom.

Tap Save. Your entry is encrypted and stored. You will see it appear in the log list below the form.

That is it. You just logged your first entry. It took about 30 seconds.

Step 4: Turn on the Daily Checklist

Go to Settings (the gear icon in the bottom navigation). Open "App Preferences" and toggle on "Daily Checklist."

Now a "Today" tab appears in your bottom navigation. Tap it. You will see a checklist with one row for each tracker you enabled. When you log an entry, that tracker marks as complete for the day. This helps you build a daily habit and track your streak.

Step 5: Come back tomorrow

The real value of BodySitRep comes from consistency. One entry does not tell you much. Fourteen days of entries starts showing patterns. Ninety days gives you a health picture that is genuinely useful for you and your providers.

You do not need to log everything every day. Log what matters. Even a quick 30-second note is better than nothing. Over time, you will be surprised how much the data reveals.

What Should I Track?

Not sure where to start? Here are some common starting points based on what you care about.

I get headaches or migraines

Start with: Headache. Add Sleep and Caffeine to see if those affect your patterns. After two weeks, check if short sleep nights or high caffeine days line up with headache days.

I want to monitor my blood pressure

Start with: Blood Pressure. Add Weight and Exercise to track the factors your doctor usually asks about. Log BP at the same time each day for the most consistent data.

I want to understand my sleep

Start with: Sleep. The sleep tracker logs bedtime, wake time, quality, and interruptions. Add Caffeine or Exercise to see how they affect your rest. The app calculates how long you sleep and how long you stay awake.

I manage a chronic condition

Start with the tracker that matches your condition: Pain for chronic pain, Mental Health for PTSD or anxiety, IBS for gut issues, Tinnitus for ear ringing. Add Mood and Sleep to see connections between how you feel and how you live.

I just want general health tracking

Start with: Sleep, Water, and Nutrition. These three cover the basics of daily life. After a few weeks, you will know how well you sleep, how much water you drink, and what you eat. Add more trackers when you are ready.

I am preparing for a VA claim

Enable the tracker that matches your claimed condition. Log every day, especially bad days. Write detailed notes about how symptoms affect your daily life: work, errands, sleep, relationships. Export your logs as CSV before your appointment. Consistent, dated records are significantly more useful than memory.
