How Do You Track Medications?
Tracking medications means recording four things with each dose:
- What you took (medication name and dose)
- Whether you took it (taken, missed, or skipped)
- When (time of day)
- Side effects (anything you noticed after taking it)
BodySitRep's Medication tracker logs adherence, tracks side effects, monitors refill schedules, and sends reminders so you never miss a dose.
Why tracking medications matters
Medication adherence is one of the biggest factors in treatment effectiveness. Studies show that up to 50% of patients do not take medications as prescribed. Without a log, you cannot tell your doctor whether a medication is not working or whether you are not taking it consistently. A medication diary removes the guesswork.

Tips
- Log every dose, including missed ones. Missing data is the worst outcome.
- Enable medication reminders in Settings.
- Note side effects immediately. "Felt dizzy at 2 PM after morning dose" is actionable data.
- Track Blood Pressure or other relevant trackers alongside medication to see if treatment is working.
- Use the Shopping list to track medication refills.
Frequently asked questions
What should I log for each medication?
Log the medication name, dose, whether you took it (taken, missed, skipped), time taken, and any side effects or reactions you notice. Notes like "felt dizzy 30 min after" are extremely useful for your provider.
Can I track multiple medications?
Yes. Each dose log is a separate entry. If you take 3 medications, log 3 entries. The Medication tracker keeps them organized by name and date.
How does medication tracking help at appointments?
Export your medication log as CSV before your appointment. It shows exactly which medications you took, when, and any side effects. This is far more reliable than trying to remember your adherence pattern.
Can I set medication reminders?
Yes. In Settings, enable Medication Reminders. Set how many minutes before each dose you want to be reminded. Enable refill reminders to know when your supply is running low.
Never lose track of your medications again
